Hotel 2030

As the pace of change across business sectors continues to accelerate, many in and around the hospitality industry are asking questions about emerging shifts, societal trends and consumer patterns that could have future impact on hotel design, guest experiences and underlying business models. Hotels are long-term investments, and guests are increasingly demanding, so getting the right answers to these questions is crucial to success.

Hotel 2030 was launched as a cross-sector platform to serve as a catalyst for open discussions on the plausible changes facing the hospitality industry as well as associated innovation opportunities for hotels over the next 15 to 20 years.

Hotel 2030 shared initial perspectives of emerging trends compiled from a mix of existing research, reports, surveys and opinions about the future authored by a wide range of organisations and individuals in and around the sector. We are now driving a range of further conversations online, face-to-face, in workshops and in other events around the world.

From these discussions, clear views on some of the most significant changes and opportunities for the hospitality sector have been distilled and curated and, as part of wider strategy, innovation and foresight support from the Hotel2030 Team, are now being shared with more organisations via talks, further workshops and online.

The Hotel 2030 Team carries out two core activities:

It continues to undertake further global research into emerging trends and potential changes facing the hospitality industry and to share these as widely as possible to inform and stimulate debate, and

Hotel 2030 also provides advisory support to hotel brands, hotel owners and developers, as well as other travel and hospitality organisations, on the implications of emerging trends for strategy development and the creation of new innovation opportunities.
